Dr. David Harris - Manager
David Harris manages the Stable Isotope Facility and performs all trace gas, TC-EA, DIC, and dual inlet analyses. He has a PhD from Hatfield Polytechnic. Dave has over 25 years of isotope experience and helped to start the SIF in 1997.
Joy Matthews - Spectroscopist 
Joy Matthews joined the Stable Isotope Facility in January 2009 with five years of experience with stable isotope techniques. Her initial focus is to implement an information management system for the facility. She is in the process of completing her PhD from Old Dominion University in Norfolk Virginia where she used oxygen and carbon isotopes to investigate estuarine dissolved organic matter cycling.
Sylvia Duncan - Senior Research Associate
Sylvia has over 9 years of isotope experience and joined the SIF team in September 2002. She received her Bachelors of Science in Geology from the University of California, Davis in 2001. Sylvia is in charge of general lab management, elemental analyzer maintenance, scheduling sample analysis, and data processing. Customers can contact Sylvia to schedule rush requests, sample status, and general data inqueries.
Elvira Delgado - Senior Research Associate
Elvira joined the SIF in April 2007. Elvira does sample receiving, sample analysis and data reduction, elemental analyzer maintenance, and performs all water isotope analyses. Customers can contact Elvira regarding water isotope analysis. In her free time, Elvira enjoys outdoor activities, doing a broad range of crafts, cooking and reading.

Katharine Pecsok - Our newest addition to the SIF, Katharine operates GC-C-IRMS and DIC/DOC systems and performs all DIC/DOC isotope analyses.
Emily Ngo Schick - Senior Research Associate
Emily has been with the SIF since January 2000. She graduated in 2003 from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences. Now a full time employee, Emily is involved in many different facets of the SIF, including general lab maintenance, setting up the 4 solid sample mass spectrometers, and bacterial denitrification preparation. She also dabbles in HTML and is responsible for the occasional update of the SIF website. Emily is the person to contact regarding billing issues, including submitting purchase orders and requesting estimates or invoices.
Irene Yen - Junior Research Associate
Education: Graduated 2001 UC Davis BA Geology
Irene joined the SIF in June 2007 as a Junior Specialist. Her current responsibilities at the SIF include preparing standards and samples, setting up solid sample runs on the mass specs, and general lab maintenance. Customers can contact Irene to see if we have received your samples in the mail.
Dr. William Holmes - Specialist
Bill Holmes manages compound specific isotope analyses by GC-C-IRMS and LC-IRMS systems. He has a PhD from University of Michigan and over 12 years experience in stable isotope techniques and instrumentation. He collaborates with researchers in academia and industry to develop and apply isotopic methodologies to agricultural, environmental, and biomedical sciences.
